Born and raised in Sydney, Dr Jonathan Lam completed his Bachelor of Dental Science degree from Charles Sturt University in 2014. He then worked as a general dentist in Sydney CBD and the Southern Highlands. This gave him the opportunity to serve patients of various demographics and gain significant experience in all aspects of clinical dentistry. After that, Dr Jonathan Lam completed the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons’ primary examinations with commendations in 2016 and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Dental Surgeons by examination in 2018. Following this, he went on to complete his specialist orthodontic training at the University of Queensland, and became a Member of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons in the field of Orthodontics. Dr Jonathan Lam is also a Certified Member of the Australasian Orthodontic Board as well as a member of the Australian Dental Association.
I am highly interested in digital orthodontics and leverage the latest advances in orthodontic technologies and techniques. This allows me to provide my patients with the most effective and efficient treatments to achieve the best smile outcomes. I am proud to have conducted high-quality research, which involved a randomised controlled trial investigating the impact of artificial intelligence remote monitoring on clear aligner treatment. I had the privilege of presenting my research at the Australian Society of Orthodontists Congress in 2022. In recognition of my contribution to orthodontic research, I was awarded the Elsdon Storey Special Merit Award by the ASO Foundation for Research and Education.

I founded Arc Orthodontic Specialists based on the vision of building a strikingly modern and elegant clinic in the Inner West of Sydney where patients would receive the highest-quality orthodontic care. The smile arc is an aesthetic parameter that is fundamental in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment. A smile arc that is consonant leads to the most beautiful, youthful and natural outcomes.
Our mission is to transform smiles adapted to the face, age and lifestyle of our patients to enhance their positive aesthetic characteristics and boost their self-confidence.
The dental arch is the crescent structure that houses the teeth and consists of the supporting gum and jaw bone.
Our primary treatment goal is to elevate smile aesthetics but always within the context ensuring optimal long-term stability and safeguarding dental health.
Arc is also defined as a line of development or the story of a character. We recognise that a person undergoes a transformative journey when they undertake orthodontic treatment and that we play an important positive role in their experience over a number of years.
Our aim is to create a culture of care where every patient and their family’s well-being and values are prioritised each time they visit us.
Our purposefully designed clinic is conveniently located in Burwood, within walking distance of major public transport hubs; we are just across the road from Burwood train station. Free parking can be found nearby at Burwood Plaza and Emerald Square.
Our workspace was designed and constructed with the intent to evoke a sense of calm and warmth for our patients. Our clinic is finished with a serene palette of neutral tones and natural wood elements, with vast windows that take advantage of abundant natural light to create a luxurious, luminous and soothing interior.
